I don’t know about you, but I’m tired. I’m so tired of hate and double standards. I’m tired of trying to explain double standards to people who can’t see or feel it. I don’t understand hatred for people you’ve never met. I don’t understand hating someone for the way they look, who they love, the color of their skin. I don’t, never have, never will understand hatred for people unknown. There is plenty in this world to hate: the people that tell you what to think; those that attempt to guide you into hatred as though it’s a noble cause. A government that attempts to turn you against one another by manipulating the media I just will never understand hatred.
There’s a meme I’ve seen on Facebook. I’ve never shared it because I always assumed that’s just how we all felt, but it made me smile. It says something to the effect of, “I don’t judge someone on the color of their skin or who they love. I judge them on whether or not they’re an asshole.” Yes. I love everyone until they give me a reason not to.
Teach your children to love, not to hate. God knows society will teach them enough hate in the future.
No more hate. Please.
