Before I even begin, let me tell you that you are beautiful as you are. However, there are a couple tips I’ve picked up over the years and you don’t have to spend a fortune.
Your face is your first impression. Your skin is your biggest organ. Some will try to sell you facials, try and sell you mud masks, cucumber masks, seaweed masks….
All you need is plain old dry oatmeal. This will soften and exfoliate. Get a box of Quaker oats. If you have a blender, throw them in dry and blend to oat dust. This is not necessary though. You can also use full oats. Mix them (or the dust) with just enough water to make a paste. Smear it all over your face, jaw, and neck. Wait until it dries–FYI, this also would double as a cheap, exfoliating zombie skin on Halloween. Once dried, take a warm, wet washcloth and loosen the oatmeal and then rinse it off. Your face will immediately feel softer, but follow up with some type of moisturizer. The type or brand really doesn’t matter. Just moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. I’ve been doing oatmeal masks since the seventh grade. It’s cheap. It works.
Now, for hair and body, buy coconut oil for cooking. It must be refrigerated if it’s the right kind. It has the consistency of crisco if it’s the right kind. Scoop some out with a tablespoon. You don’t need a lot. Put it in the microwave or heat it on the stove until it’s liquid. Let it cool enough that you can touch it. It should still be warm. Coat your dry hair with it. Rub it into your elbows, legs, hands. The moisture will renew your hair and skin and soothe dry, itchy skin.
So, a couple bucks for some Quaker oats and about 8.00 for coconut oil. Skin and hair are soft and healthy. These are my best beauty tips.
